you would have to take half the engine apart to replace a head gasket,i suggest you have this professionaly done to insure it s done right.plus the valves or rockers would be reajusted before the refined head would go on.also i ve heard that you can just have the head redone because with a new tight head on top things seem to find the next weakiest spot which on a car would be the lower part of the engine which means CRANK. IF your really serious about the car ,i would suggest a full overhaul by a professional in which you ll have a garentee of every apart of the motor.
