First of all, there's no way to lose fat in one particular area, you will lose fat wherever your body chooses. During your first trimester you do not need to increase your calories at all, for the last 2 trimesters you only need to consume an extra 250 - 300 calories a day, you don't need to eat for 2. So first you need to make healthy choices about what you eat. Also, do not listen to people who tell you the only exersice you can do during pregnancy is brisk walks and swimming, it's not true. I've been working out at a gym doing 1 hour of weight traing and 20 minutes of cardio every second day. Abdominal exersices are excellent during pregnancy, they help with the birth, help eliminate Back pain, RLS, insomnia, and fatigue. They will also help you to gain a flat stomach faster after the birth. Make sure you stay away from any exercise where you are laying flat on your back. You will not lose pounds on a scale, but you may lose some body fat that will be replaced by muscle mass.

Your six pack can be covered by skin and/or fat. Many times, what sits on our stomach has a lot to do with our genes and our habits. Generally, we pick up fat-laying qualities from our parents and/or our relatives. When we work out, we can tone the muscles and use stored fat from anywhere in our bodies but this may or may not affect the fat on our stomach. Working our stomach muscles won't tone loose skin either -- this is heavily influenced by our genes. Hope this helps.
