there is a cable under the nose, it's a t-handle. pull down. if the hood only pops up part way and then won't go up anymore, lift the hood until it stops and then pull the t-handle again REALLY HARD. sometimes you also have to put upward pressure on the hood as you pull the handle. I called 4 Pontiac dealerships and none of the mechanics knew how to open it. many were condescending and incorrect at the same time. it took me three days to figure this out.
