Test the CD by inserting it into the drive and rebooting your PC. As long as the CD is earlier in the PC's boot order, the CD will take over the boot process and go into it's restoration routine. Depending on the manufacturer, this may be a complete rewrite of the hard drive, or a choice to only replace the Windows files only. This is important as a complete rewrite will overwrite your personal files and added applications too. If no choice for "Windows only" exists, you need to exit this restore process and find a way to get your personal (My Documents, email, Quicken data etc...) files off this PC, and then run the CD boot restore again. After it is restored, you can copy your data back again. If you do not need your personal files or have a copy already, you can proceed with the overwrite. Remember to do updates for Windows and apply all Service Packs for WIndows and other MS applications.
If your computer originally came with it, then you can legally download it from a torrent website. Just make sure you download an unmodified version of exact operating system you have. I'm not sue if I'm allowed to give you the links to any torrent websites here, but I'm sure a Google search will work.
Yes, if you have copied all installion files on your hard disk. If you haven't you cannot reinstall Vista.
You cannot do this unless the manufacturer has specifically provided a way for you to do so, in which case you should follow the manufacturer's instructions.
You have to have files from original CD to change the interface language.
Restart your PC then Press one of the F1 or F2 or F3.... Buttons and it will take you automaticaly to a screen ;)
Yes.
If your restore requires a windows disk then you cannot restore without one. Most do not require a windows CD. Most include the windows files in the manufacturer restore.
You must have an installation disc to upgrade Windows 98.
Use the following commands in Windows XP: Start, Run, type sfc /scannow This will restore all Windows files and drivers back to their original condition, without losing or erasing information.
If you are trying to install Windows XP on a computer with a CD / DVD drive but you do not have a Windows CD, you can make a "ghost" copy of your hard drive. This "ghost" can be used to copy Windows back to a hard drive bit by bit. You should have a fresh / working copy of Windows running first to make a ghost. If you have a CD but no disc drive, you can copy the files onto a network folder on another computer and run the installation program over the network.
If you don't mind losing all of your files then yes, it is ok.
The only possible way to do that would be to purchase a Vista disc and run from that.
Without a disk or installation files, it's impossible.
