use clean and clear.
Remove the old ones, ONE AT A TIME... and do not set the gap, install them right out of the box, they are pre-set and a gap gauge rill ruin the Platinum finish and they will break down and misfire.
Getting the alignment(gap) right is the hardest. Just need to remove the headlight, raise the hood unbolt the fender bolts. The fender bolts near the door jam, You get access with the door open. You might need to remove the bumper to remove.
The gap on mine is .044. Its a 1990 Legacy. If this is not right somebody let me know.

If you purchase the AC DELCO Iridiums you dont need to gap them, they come gapped at .040 from the factory. Just put them right in but I believe the actually gap from the original plugs is .0425. Just put them in right out of the box because the gap will naturally widen as you drive the car into the optimum gap range which is .040- .045

There is no gap. The right plug is flat, with electrode in the center of a ceramic circle.

It just won't run properly ,hard start. I don't think it should damage anything . As long as the plug is the right plug gust remove the plug and replace it with a new one and gap it properly. That should fix it.
