Add stain and scale remover to your water. I will get those kinds of stains too if I don't use the stain and scale when filling the pool, or a couple of times after big big rains.
It is caused by metals, usually iron, copper, and manganese in your water. The stain and scale remover will trap those metals in your filter (until back washing or cleaning out your filters) and allow the clean pool water to start breaking down the stains.
I'd check with your local pool supply to find out what the best brand would be for your setup, how much to use, and test your water to see how high the metal levels are in your pool.
Put some dry acid or chlorine in a sock and place the sock directly on top of the stain and leave it there.
Drain pool and clean with muriatic acid
Turn your pool pump off and let the water settle and become still, 10 to 15 min is more than enough. Spread shock ( Cal-Hypo ) over the pool and it will settle on to the floor and bleach out the stains. Let it set for 5 min or so and turn every thing back on.
Just increase the acidity of the water for a couple of weeks. a lot of pool stains are the result of tannin from plants and leaves and acid neutralise's it.
I seriously doubt that the pool sweep is the problem here with your stains. You will have to describe the stains in order to get to the root of the problem. Are the stains: Rust color or brown? Black or gray? Green? Blue? Are the stains consistent or uniform? Are they all over the pool? Do they cover the whole pool or are they in small patches? Answer these questions and I may be able to tell you the cause. k
If your pool filter is up and running, also it is best to clean the walls and floor if you have a normal to high chlorine level because this will be also your cleaning agent. Take a soft bristle brush, get in the pool and start cleaning, all the above should come off. it is better if the filter is running so you can vac out the dirt, when the dirt goes to the bottom of the pool.
Sounds like the PH is wrong in the pool try adjusting to the correct PH
Use a natural ascorbic acid based pool product to clean stains on walls in the pool. Once applied, this product almost immediately removes most stains. Most pool stains come from metals in the water. Test your fill water to make sure it doesn't contain high concentrations of metals, if you fill your pool from sources other than city water.
Salt does not stain you probably have calcium stains. This can be cleaned with a solution of muriatic or hydrochloric acid. try a test piece first and be careful for your eyes.
I've had some success with muriatic acid- although you have to be very careful & only works if stains not too deep. They sell it in pool supplies.
It totally depends on what made the stains, not what color they are.
IMagime swimming in a pool full of trash :/
