Most Dodge Caravan's don't have a replaceable oil pump. The oil pump is built in to the engine block and can only be rebuilt. The best (and fairly cheap) way to identify if your pump needs work is to put a manual gauge on the engine at the oil pressure switch. It is located near the bottom of the engine block with a screw in fitting and 2 wires off of it. It is not a hard job to replace the pump and most DIY mechanics can do it easily in about 2.5 to 3 hours. In reply to the answer above, synthetics cause more harm than good. FYI once you use a synthetic oil, it is impossible to go back to conventional oil without a complete engine rebuild. Synthetic oil wears gaskets, o-rings, and other seals much faster than conventional oil due to the chemicals in the synthetic oil. It is always safer to stick to the manufacturer's recommended oil, usually 5w-20 or 10w-30.
