First make sure that all the traps are full of water. If they are, disassemble the tailpiece under the sink before the trap, and remove hair (if any). If smell persists, there is a crack or hole in your vent piping.
The smoke "masks" the smell but does nothing to actually get rid of it!

The chemical smell used in propane is ethyl mercaptan. Cut an apple in half and leave it under the seat of the car for a couple of days. Don't forget about it or you may have 2 bad smells. The apple absorbs the odor.

well this is one reason not how to get rid of skunk odor: tomato juice ( unless you want to ). you only think it works because when you smell it up close you can't smell the odor of the skunk anymore. but i think to get rid of skunk odor is to take a bath in SOAP! and LOTS of it!

Check where it connects under the sink to the drainage or the garburator. It will more than likely be plugged somewhere near that connection. Unplug it, and run 2 cups of vinegar and 1/2 a cup of baking soda through a long hot cycle in the D/W. This should get rid of the sewer odor.
