Just as you would train any other dog, with a little time, love, and patience. Chihuahuas are not as hard to train as one would think. You can purchase "how to" books at many stores including Petco and Petsmart.

∙ 15y agoYou can train them like a normal they are very smart dogs and do not forget easily and they do like alot of attention from there owners and they will bark if they want attntion the best wayt ot get them out of the barking habbit is to just pay no attention when they bark!

∙ 11y agoWe have two 3 month old Chihuahua's that we already walk on leashes. Buy a mesh harness (Petco carries the very tiny ones) and a retractable leash and start with short walks. After a few times they will get the hang of it. Ours take a short 20-30 minute walk everynight and they love it. The key is to start them young and be patient.
