Run the washer empty with hot water and bleach through an entire cycle.
Buy Affresh (tablets) and place in washer and run thru the washing cycle using HOT water. May have to do this a couple times. Buy at supermarkets and 3 tablets to a pack. Use a Affresh tablet and cycle thru about every 6 weeks to remove soap scum especially if you have hard water.
