I need more info to even try this one. Anyone else???
If you're referring to a floor or steering wheel column console it works the same way. The orange light or needle you see is attached to the instraument that changes the transmission gears in some form or another so it's not actually "receiving a signal" just following the lever or piece of metal that moves in order to communicate with the driveshaft and the P, R, N, D, 3, and 2 are positioned/displayed in a way that will follow where correct positioning would exist.
The lighted readout at night only causes such to light because it has LED glow ups installed that are switched on automatically upon turning on your headlights.
DAT stands forDash Automatic Transmission (Shifter is on the dashboard/instrument panel)
If you are refering to the button on the side of the shifter then it is the overdrive on / off button.Toyo joe
For which veh?
Check to see if the P is lit on the insrument panel PRNDL indicator if not it is the selector switch on the side of the shifter Also check if you have brake lights if not it is the brake light switch
AnswerYou have to remove the gear shift plate, just pry carefully, (it's plastic) with a screwdriver. Remove the screws holding the shifter. Take the drive indicator out and the bulb is on the driver side. It's a tiny bulb. The bulb comes out by turning it to the left.Alternatively, you do not have to remove the gear shifter. Take a look at the following picture tutorial: http://automotive.trevorated.com
located inside the transmission on the side access panel, very hard to get too, must drop the k frame. located inside the transmission on the side access panel, very hard to get too, must drop the k frame.
Anything is possible if you have enough money. Call a couple of local garages for estimates. I imagine you could...but why would you want to....your better of trading someone with an automatic...and plus it is a very spendy procedure"shift locks, sensors, ect..." Yes this is very possible and there are more people that have done it than you think. You will however have to buy a new tranny mount, new pedals from the manual, shift linkage, shifter, shifter boot, shifter cover panel, hydrolic lines, master and slave cylinders and probably alot more parts that i am leaving out but you could do it for under a grand if you found good deals on used parts.
how do i change the interior on the door panel of a 99 Honda civic dx
There is a screw behind the inside handle. The you need to remove the caseing on the panel of inside ARM rest or automatic window panel. Also remove the three screws inside the speaker cover. Just pop it off with a flat head. Just takes a little muscle after to pop it loose.
The fuel cut-off switch is located behind the left side kick panel
Look for a fuse on the left-panel below the driver. It controls the inside middle stop-brake light and the transmission button.
More than likely the shifter is bad. On the right front of the shifter is a small plastic cover. About the size of a pea. Pull this cover up and inset a small flathead screwdriver in. Push it down and then you should ne able to get it out of park. You will need to do this every time until you get the shifter fixed.
