Eastern Europe is within a region that has very distinct and productive seasons so life there really revolves around the seasons changing and the terrain. Things such as lack of arable land often force the people to have a limited diet of foods including barley, cabbage, and other cold-mountain plants

Their clothing is more geared towards higher altitudes and cold rather then sea-level regions and warmth. Cultural festivities revolve around the spring, summer and harvest times of the year rather then the fall or winter when the areas are bleak and devoid of food and warmth
