an appraisal firm, is generally a good idea. there will alway be realestate. you need to get a license to practice this profession and the state you live in will have a realestate board that will give you this information. you will then need to market yourself through realestate brokers, agents, etc. this word of mouth will be the best you will find. good luck. P.s. this is a good idea in general b\c most people think up something like a coffee shop or an snowcone stand. your profession will always be here. --- Besides licensing you will also have to meet educational requirements and work as a trainee for a period of time to earn your appraisers license.
