How many US presidents were millionaires?
Washington was surely a millionaire. Both Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe and Tyler owned large estates and had considerable wealth. Both Harrisons were from well-to-do families. Both Roosevelts, both Bushes and Kennedy were born into rich families. Hoover made a fortune as a mining engineer but started with nothing. The other presidents all had high paying jobs other than president and so became well-to-do if not exactly millionaires. With the possible exception of Andrew Johnson and those who died young, they all would have ended up as millionaires today.

How many us representatives are millionaires?
Too many. Most of them have no clue what the voters want and need and I really believe that most of them really don't care. I would like to see important issues put up for a vote by the voters. Example would have been HEALTHCARE, most voters did not want it and it got rammed down our throats. Voters would like to vote on if the Senate and Congress should get raises, after they put this country in such deep debt we would like to make the final decision on their pay raises and other important issues. These people in Washington DC are so out of touch with the people that sent them there. We need a business man to be President, someone that would cut the wasteful spending that is going on, get our people back to work and look out for the USA instead of looking out for every other country. We need term limits. No one should be on the Hill for decades. They also need to be on the same healthcare plan that they voted in and suffer like the rest of us. This country needs a business man to take over and clean up the crap that the President and the folks on the hill have created and send them all home with no pensions or special healthcare.

The value of a dollar was maybe 17 times great at the beginning of the century than at the end, so it is now a lot easier for a person to become a millionaire. All these presidents held well-paid jobs as senators, governors, business owners, and top general for several years before they became president.
