The TH700R4 regard a family of General Motors Hydramatic automatic transmissions. There should be a total of three check balls in a relatively diagonal line across the valve body.
NO.
torque to 96-110in/lbs
The throttle valve in a 700r4 is what controls the hydraulic pressure in your transmission if it is not hooked up or adjusted properly it will burn up your transmission
Where is modulator valve s10Hi there,If your transmission is a stock 1987 s10 2WD or 4x4,the transmission is a 700r4, 4 speed transmission w/ Overdrive.(around 1991 the 700r4, was renamed the 4L60, about 1993 became the 4L60E, E for electronic shift.) This transmission did Not have a vaccuum modulator, as did earlierchevrolet 3sp automatic transmissions. They use a TV cable (Thottle Valve cable) to determine shifting. The TV cable hooks up to the carburetor or injection body linkage -in a (visual way) similar to the older (kickdown) linkages of 3spd automatic transmissions. It is NOT a Kickdown cable.Proper adjustment IS CRITICAL to the survival of your 700r4.you. Good luck
not at all.....any good aftermarket store should be able to get one
To the left of the Transmission Fluid stick. It on a little "T" valve.
There is no dipstick for the transmission. It has a check valve on the side of the pan.
Its kinda complicated. You have to remove the transmission oil pan, and then remove the valve body. The valve body is an extremely complicated part that helps the fluid build pressure to help in shifting. It is filled with multiple solenoids, check balls and passages that have to be assembled exactly or your trans will never be the same again. Unless you know what you're doing, take it somewhere to a REAL transmission shop. If you want to save a few bucks, take the valve body out yourself and then take that in.
This transmission does not have a modulator valve. This transmission does not have a modulator valve.
It is inside the transmission, on the valve body.
Check kickdown cable or throttle valve cable adjustment. Also, check transmission fluid quality. If it's bad, replace it with fresh fluid.
Check the egr valve.
