1.1 billion people in the world are considered atheist. Atheists are people who believe there is no God or divine being. They do not believe in the afterlife, therefore, they have no religion.

Religion is defined as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Atheism lacks all of this. Most atheist do not even consider themselves atheist, but every person is defined by a religion so if you have no religion, you are defined as this.

The figures vary greatly depending on which report you look at and how current the information is. I have provided 1 link that reports the number to be over 41 million.

How many times does the Bible say you should not marry non-Christians?

A:The Bible does not really give us a ruling either way. In 2 Corinthians 6:14, Paul commands Christians not to be joined together with non-Christians ("unequally yoked"), which is often taken to refer to marriage. However, in 1 Corinthians chapter 7 he quite clearly favours marriage to non-Christians as long as there is no dispute about religion. He says about recent converts who are already married that if a Christian man has an unbelieving wife, he should continue to live with her, just as a Christian woman with an unbelieving husband should live with him, unless the unbeliever wishes to separate.
