That's going to depend on the dump truck's configuration. It could be a single axle, tandem, tri-axle, quad axle, quint axle, centipede, frameless end dump, framed end dump, etc.
yes
Of course you can. In the long run, top sod layer will grow stronger, greener, deeper and more drought resistant since the underlying sod layer will slowly decompose and provide nutrients and a deeper layer of fertile top soil for the new sod on top. You could say the top sod layer will be organic grass. Sod is often placed on poor soil ( heavy clays, subsoil etc.) often compacted by construction vehicles such as landscaping bulldozer, dump truck, etc. driven around the building site, to quickly turn ugly surface into immediate short-term beauty. But the sod is usually too thin and may very well yellow in time.
The size of a roll of sod at Home depot varies on the price that is being paid and the brand that is being purchased. It also depends on the variation of sod being purchased.
sod
250
1000 square feet of sod, or 111 square yards
im guessing your sod is 16inches by 24inches. so that's 1.33ft by 2ft that's a total of around 2440 pieces. if you sod is 16ftby24ft then you would need 16 to 17 pieces
About $1.50 per sq ft. sod and labor included, but site preparations are separate charge. In our area it is much less- depending on the size of the job it can run from $0.30 to 1 per sq ft including sod and labor.
It can vary depending on what region you are in. Generally though expect to pay under a dollar for one square foot of sod.
1 maybe 2
The price of a pallet of centipede sod depends on your location and where you purchase it. On average, the cost is between $100 and $150.
I own a 3 1/2 acre yard in Maui. It cost me $14, 700 dollars to have sod put in.
