For awhile, you may lose some weight, but it is not sustainable. Fruit diets are popular because fruit contains no fat, and people are often misled because of it's "light" feeling and watery composition. Many people do not realize that fruit is made up of sugar (a.k.a. carbs), and your body digests all sugars in the same way, regardless of where they came from. That said, fruit diets tend to be low in calories simply because fruit is low calorie. Fruit can also be more filling because of it's high water (and sometimes fiber, i.e. apples) content. However, fruit contains no protein. Protein is an essential building block to your body. While you may lose some fat weight on a fruit diet, it will be extremely difficult to build any muscle, which is really the key to weight loss. Fruit diets are just one among the many "fad" diets that have been developed in our generation- it is regarded as a "quick fix", but it is impossible to survive forever on fruit alone. You NEED fat and protein to live, both of which are not supplied by fruit. While you may lose weight for the first couple weeks, it is nearly impossible to sustain and you will most likely end up bingeing on high-fat foods because you are depriving yourself. The best thing you can do is eat a balanced diet and exercise- do a cardio exercise (running, elliptical, etc.) for at least 1/2 hr. five times per week, and perform weight-bearing exercises at least 1/2 hr. three times per week. This is the only tried-and-true method that guarantees long-term weight loss.
It depends really because some people lose weight by not eating or exercising or just cutting down on fatty foods J. McCartney. Any type of fasting or fad diet will not result in any weight loss. The only way to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more, and do that for a long time. I know this to be true, as I have permanently lost about 75 pounds. Juice has a lot of calories in it, and a lot of empty calories from sugar in many cases. (The same is true for coffee drinks - some of the Starbucks drinks have more calories than a Big Mac.)
You may have a temporary drop in mass, but that is going to spring back once you start eating again. In fact, you will likely GAIN weight after you start eating again.
More input Okay, that last answer was completely wrong. It depends on how much extra weight you have. Probably about a pound a day if your normal weight. Juice fasting is not unhealthy unless overdone. It clears your body of toxins and excess fat. I am kind mad at that last answer because they had no clue what they were talking about. But alright, juice fasting off of raw organic fruits and vegetables is extremely healthy. Raw organic foods have oxygen that is essential in order for your cells to function. The first couple of days you may feel groggy and tired, but if you continue you will notice a huge increase in your energy. Be careful to buy organic foods seeing as the genetically mutated plants have a lot more sugar and as long as you don't add sugar, the fast will have amazing results on your skin which has to do with the oxygen to the cells thing. Juice fasting also restores your body of enzymes, since you're not eating cooked foods. Cooking foods kills most enzymes so your body has to use its own. This can affect your immune system later on in life. Foods with enzymes help with digestion. Juice fasting also adds important vitamins and minerals. Cooking foods also kills many of it's nutrients. There are many more benefits I just can't think of them right now. Let me know if this helped. :]
It depends on how many calories the liquid contains. Just because it's not a solid food, doesn't mean you won't gain any weight. 1 calorie in a drink, is the exact same amount as 1 calorie in a solid food.
The amount of weight lost on a juice fast will vary from individual to individual. Someone with a great deal of weight to lose may lose pounds very quickly and in very impressive amounts. Another person without large amounts of body fat may lose weight more slowly while becoming increasingly fit and healthy.
Depends on how many calories you drink. 1000 calories a day for a week: you can lose 7 pounds
Weight Watchers is a good diet that is recommended to lose weight. You pretty much can eat what you want in moderation as long as you keep track of your points
Not much, fasting doesn't work. If you want to lose weight do not eat any junk and do an elimination diet by not eating wheat. I know someone who is on the diet and has already lost a lot of weight!

just excersise for about half an hour a day and then build it up to an hour and so on but remember that loosing weight can be to do with your diet plan such as how much fruit and veg is in your diet so if you want to loose weight try excersising and a healthy diet also remember that a healthy diet is a diet which has lots of nutrition in it but dont starve yourself
As much weight as you create a caloric deficit for. Any diet will cause you to lose weight if it allows you to take in fewer calories than you expend. How large and sustainable that deficit is will determine how much you lose. If you exercise more, or eat differently, it will affect your weight- big surprise, huh? So you can't stick a number on any diet.
Hypothyroidism is a medical condition and not a diet. Hypothyroidism prevents people from losing weight. Therefore on average people do not lose weight if they have hypothyroidism.

It won't help you lose weight, only to make your diet healthier. Exercise does that. Raw celery is negative calories and can help you lose weight.
Don't rely on fiber to lose weight. Just eat less and move more.
In a health weight loss diet, you should choose a diet in which you can lose a couple pounds a week. If you lose to much fast, you can do serious damage to your body.
about 20 pounds
I would guess so. Weight loss usually takes time. I would say its reasonable to not lose much weight in the first week in type of diet.
