There is no absolute rule. A general rule of thumb on a 1998 which had platinum plugs was around 60,000-75,000 miles.
But pull one out and look at it. The gap should be .052-.056. Measure the gap and see if there is a lot of wear on it.
If you do decide to replace the plugs, please check and adjust the gap on the new plugs to .052-.056. Don't rely on the plugs as being "pre-gapped."
