In general, the only way to do would be to claim danger to the child, or possibility of a permanent move. You will have to consult with your attorney on this one.

Also, as the child is 12, you should consider that doing so - even if you legally can - may be denying him a wonderful opportunity. Decide carefully, as France is not that dangerous.
