I formatted my SD card on my computer instead of in my digital camera and now the camera won't recognize it. Is there anything I can do or is this formatting mistake irreversible?

Normally you should be able to reformat the card in your camera. If the camera does not recognize the card at all when the card is plugged in, then something else is wrong. The below listed related link outlines several freeware software for recovering accidentally deleted pictures. One of these from VAIOSoft includes several other options for restoring and reformatting your card. Recommend giving it a try to see if it will jog your card back into a recognizable format.

You probably need to format the memory card using your cell phone. Before you put anything on a memory card that is used in a cell phone it has to be formatted so it can be used by the phone. I'm afraid you can't do anything. The mistake you made was in formatting it after you unfinalized it. By doing that you wiped everything on the disc.
