Normally you should be able to reformat the card in your camera. If the camera does not recognize the card at all when the card is plugged in, then something else is wrong. The below listed related link outlines several freeware software for recovering accidentally deleted pictures. One of these from VAIOSoft includes several other options for restoring and reformatting your card. Recommend giving it a try to see if it will jog your card back into a recognizable format.

Does deleting a partition while installing Xp means formatting the partition?

No. However, formatting a partition will effective erase everything from an existing partition. Keep in mind that partitions are simply sections on a disk carved out to hold files, and they must be formatted before anything can be stored there. Re-formatting a partition simply wipes out the contents so you can start, which is probably what your questions refers to.

My cell phone is not reading the memory card. i cannot get the songs I downloaded to the sandisk card to play on the cell phone.?

You probably need to format the memory card using your cell phone. Before you put anything on a memory card that is used in a cell phone it has to be formatted so it can be used by the phone. Once it is formatted correctly you can put things onto the card using the folders that the formatting process has created.

What is the purpose of Excel conditional formatting?

Conditional formatting is a method of formatting a cell based on its value. So you can do things like have the cell in different colours for values above or below a value, or if it is equal to a value and so on. So you could have a list of exam results that you want to show in red if they are fails and in green if they are passes. So if the pass mark is 40, then anything greater or equal to 40 can be set as a condition, and then format the cell to be green. If it is less than 40 would be another condition for which the cell will be set to red. Start by selecting the cell or cells you want to apply conditional formatting to. Then go to the Format menu, and you will find Conditional Formatting on it. You can then start setting the conditions you want and the formatting that you want for those conditions.Conditional formatting allows you to change the formatting of a cell based on the values that are in it. For example, you might have a list of exam scores, that you want to be displayed in red if they are fails and in green if they are passes. You could use conditional formatting to achieve this. The cell will automatically format itself based on its value, so if you change the value it can change its formatting. So if 40 was a pass, then anything below 40 would be set to red and anything from 40 up will be in green. Your conditions are the scores and the formatting can be the colours you want.To do is, you select the cells you want first. The go to the Format menu and pick Conditional Formatting. You can then set the conditions that you want for the formatting and then the formatting you want applied when those conditions are met.Conditional formatting allows you to change the formatting of a cell based on the values that are in it. I finalized a disc full of video footage using a Panasonic vdr d-100 digi camcorderI wanted to record more so i unfinalized it formatted it now its ALL erased what do i do?

I'm afraid you can't do anything. The mistake you made was in formatting it after you unfinalized it. By doing that you wiped everything on the disc.

Does anything stay on the disk after formatting?

Yes, all that formatting does is rewrites some basic block marks and clears the tables. There are several applications that allow you look at what was on a disk before it was formatted. However, there are also several applications that allow you to "wipe" a disk, writing random bits to the entire surface. In general, if you write 3 times with random data it will be virtually impossible to even read "shadows" of the data that was there before.
