If a 1994 Ford Aerostar had a new transmission installed and now it clinks when you turn left or right but stops when you dissconnect the awd box under the driver seat was the transmission installed improperly?

It sounds like there are bad joints in your front axle. These will click and make noise when going around corners. Dan the tranny man
Also check the front differential mounting bracket as, if broken or the bolts are missing ( aluminum ( yuck) then there is play that makes noises as well..
my go to garage guy makes steel replace ment ones....

i changed a transmission over from an 88 aerostar to a 93 aerostar, the only problem i had was with the shifter . the shift cable on the 88 was a floor shift and the 93 was on the steering coloumn. all aerostars have a plate on the floor where a floor shift can be installed. i removed this plate and installed the floor shifter from the 88 into the 93 problem solved ....hope this helps
