You know whats funny? Somebody I know had the exact same problem the other day for salad dressing. Luckily they had lime juice in the fridge. Use that! It tastes exactly the same! (at least in salad dressing!). DONT USE VINEGAR! I have no idea where you're getting that information from. Vinegar is way to bitter and strong. No, lemon juice is way sweeter that vinegar. Well the meal will be very bitter even compared to lemons but there are some ways my mum cooks vinegar and it tastes almost sweet. Look it up in a cook book or something. there are other ingredients so not just hot vinegar (yuk be careful).
If a recipe calls for vinegar can you substitute lemon juice instead?
You can substitute with Champagne vinegar, White wine vinegar, Cider vinegar, Rice wine vinegar. I would start with half of what the recipe calls for. If your recipe calls for 2 Tbsp. you should add 1 Tbsp. and taste first before adding more. You can always add more but you can't take it out.
Red wine vinegar, if you have it.
no
nothing really, but if you drink it it will taste like vinger that has been put lemon. and i guess it cleans your system
Ordinary vinegar - or a mixture of white wine and ordinary vinegar.
Only if the recipe calls for it.
You probably could, if you are using a little, but the vinegar will give the food a much different flavor than the wine. -------------------------------------------------------- Vinegar is more sour than wine. You could use fruit juice plus just a little vinegar. Depending on what you like yourself, you can substitute other liquids like beer, tomato juice or chicken broth.
Yes, cider vinegar and apple cider vinegar are the same thing.
Yes, you can. Make sure you use half or less than what the recipe calls for, don't use it for canning, and don't use it for beverages.
Might be too heavy, leading to soggy or a dense textured cake. You can substitute applesauce-the amount is half of what the recipe calls for.
It depends. You need it when it calls for it in a recipe or when you are trying to classify a mineral to see if it bubbles in vinegar. You can use vinegar from science to playing. I guess it is whatever you feel like doing with it.
Turmeric is a common substitute for saffron because saffron is very expensive to buy but if a recipe calls for turmeric you can use saffron instead.
