It depends on whether you are charged with a misdemeanor or a felony.
Unless charged with a felony, the police are not allowed to break down your door. They can request a leasing office in an apartment building to open your apartment, but that's as far as it goes. Now, the longer you delay the less lenient a judge will be when they finally do arrest you, however. Also, if unable to pick you up at home they will eventually pick you up during their annual roundups when you're not home or when they pull you over for some random driving mistake or just because they felt like running your plates.
If you ARE charged with a felony, they can do whatever they want to get you and not opening the door will make you arrest much more unpleasant than it needs to be.
If the police have a warrant for you they can enter and search IF it's your primary residence.
They can enter regardless if it's a misdemeanor or felony if they have a warrant.
Normally police won't break in unless they believe it necessary and like it was said above they will catch you sooner of later.
If it's a very serious crime or exigent circumstances apply odds are they are coming in regardless.
Best thing to do if you find out you have a warrant is call the local PD and tell them you want to turn yourself in.
They can not enter the house unless (2 reasons) have a warrant or have probable cause. But that doesnt mean that they cant detain you outside until a warrant is received.
If they are instructing you to open the door and do do not listen to there commands you can be arrest for obstruction. If you are obstructing or hindering a police investigation they can arrest you. Also in some cases if the police come with a warrant you might not have to open the door they just might do it for you.
Because it was delicious! HAHA! i am outside you door! do not come looking for me! I live in your neighborhood! In your HOUSE! Your MAMA!
they have to have a warrant to search your house and without it they cant come into your house but if you step out they can arrest you for whatever your charged with
I'll give an example. When police come knocking at your door, demanding you to open up and let them search the house, you can say, "No, I need to see your search warrant." The police MUST have a search warrant in order to search your house and if they don't, you can kick them out! :) Hehe.
I would get a phone and find a safe place in your house. close the door and lock it. Call the police. Make sure someone is really in your house before calling the police. Bring something for defense. If he or she finds where you are, throw the item that you have that them. Then try using physical defense. In other words start fighting and kicking. By then the police would have come and everything would be back to normal.
To open the door, looking for a security near the house.
it is a door sweep
If the police at the door have a valid arrest warrant, then you must produce the son or face obstruction (or whatever they call it in you jurisdiction) charges yourself. If the police at the door do not have a valid arrest warrant, you do not have to produce your son. In the case that the police have a valid search warrant for your premises, you can't deny them access without facing obstruction charges. If they search, they will probably find you son.
10 The street name is Downing street the house is particularly distinctive as there is a police officer at the door!
Police can use reasonable force to enter a property with a warrant. However, unless it's a no-knock warrant the police will generally give you approximately 15 seconds to come to the door before they force entry.
Yes, you are wanted for a FELONY!
