It really depends on who makes the head unit. I had a tape player and put in an Alpine CD player and all of my lights on the head unit work, but the wiring was tricky. I had to cut out a hole for the wiring to get from the trunk inside the car. Then I had to put the wiring under the carpet and under the backseat to my custom-built speaker box. Generally, you can't take the deck off of a tape player and put on a CD player deck and have it work at all. I would suggest that you buy a complete head unit. If you just want a new tape player deck as long as they are made by the same company then they should work.
Check www.fullsizechevy.com I remember seeing an article where someone replaced the color LED's...that could help you....
The lights may not work because the wires for the lights is not pluged in or you blew a fuse.

Player, the keeper is normally #1
I could be wrong...BUT when a player is in the zone, they are said to play out of their mind. When they leave they flip the switch. Lights out.
it depends on the player but normally 20 yrs.
fuses appear ok. Still no sound, radio, CD player, DVD player appear to be working
The Key/Lock cylinder is broken. Replace it. Your ignition switch may also be defective, so replace the lock cylinder and see if the problem goes away.
The lights are there for the same reasons all lights are used; to light the table evenly so there is no shadows from the balls, cue, or player (if lighted properly).
technically no. Once a yellow has been shown the player is off for the 10 minutes. However, where that play is classed as a speciality position (only one of the front row) a reserve may be fielded but another play must leave to make room for them. In the case of a front row player having to have a yellow card replacement its normally the blind side flanker that leaves the field of play
