Yes, cars in the 1920's had an enormous influence on Americans Because of cars, roadside restaurants and hotels/motels were established because people needed a place to sleep and eat if they were on the road for awhile, and this also caused a boom in gas stations. In the city, teens had the privilege to get away from their parents if they were on a date, and did so often. Auto makers, both here and in Europe, created cars for the rich, luxury cars and limousines. However, cars were also a bad influence on people. Pastors, Priests,Bishops,Fathers, and all religious officials were agreeing that Sunday drives was more common than attending Sunday services and proclaimed the automakers, and the auto buyers, were to be damned and sent to hell for their crimes against God.
