Celibacy is an individual choice. The Apostle Paul in The Bible was a celibate so he could proclaim the gospel. It is probably not as common today as before but some people prefer to be single, that is their right.. Rememberr Paul talked about this in I Corinthians. Some people need to get married while others should not. I have known several people who would have been better off if they had not married.
