if it is just a head gasket, it could be $400 or more depending on if it is the "front" head or the "rear" one. The rear head usually requires you to remove the engine. Most likely the head is also warped, etc (especially if overheated) and will need to be machined on a lathe or head replaced --- now the cost is upwards of $1000 or more
