I watched the episode, and was surprised by the answer, which I will never forget, because Jehovah's Witnesses have been made the laughing stock by comedians throughout my life. How people do laugh at the jokes that they tell concerning them. However, they are the most avoided religion by people of the world. I asked myself, why? The question was, and I quote: "What is the most accurate translation of the holy scriptures?" The answer was, and I quote: " What is the New World Translation Of The Holy Scriptures." If you watch Jeopardy. You know the sounds of things on Jeopardy when the answer is correct. Bells and Alex Trebek telling you, "you are correct." That's just the way it was. I have no reason to lie. I have nothing to lose or gain in telling you this. I have gained the knowledge of the truth in that question and answer. That episode has benefited my life very well since then. The accuracy of God's word has helped me to understand it better, and has cleared up the confusion that other translations brought to my mind. Now, I understand and feel in my life what Jesus said when he said, the truth will set you free. Therefore, I must thank God for helping me to wholeheartedly search for the truth of his word as he intended it when he inspired man to write it.
I saw this episode, it aired in 2003. The new world translation is the most accurate version
Another Answer:
The above answer does not take into account that you can search the Jeopardy Questions using the Jeopardy Archive site. The questions containing either the words new or world had nothing to do with The Bible and neither did the word Translation. Whenever the word Bible came up it had nothing to do with the most accurate translation and concerned other subjects. The Jeopardy Archive is easy to search at the related link.
Answer:
Despite the efforts of JW apologists, the answer is a resounding "No." As a current Jehovah's Witness, I heard this myth going around and attempted to verify it.
Opinion:
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and so I would naturally love for that to be the case. But I personally have not seen it. I have heard this rumor frequently, but I cannot confirm it. I would invite any who may have seen it personally to chime in, but otherwise, I would say that this is simply rumor and should not be regarded as fact.
I have also heard that the Smithsonian Institute has referred to the NWT as the "world's most accurate Bible translation." This too is a familiar unconfirmed rumor.
I have researched both of these similar rumors and have found no hard evidence to either support or deny.
I realize that the first answerer here stated "yes" to this question, so maybe he or she has personally seen the episode of Jeopardy in question, I don't know. But if a person has not seen this episode themselves, or can feel 100% sure of the source from which the information has origionated, then we cannot say yes or no for sure.
This was never a Jeopardy question and is merely a myth. If there was a question it would not consider a translation into English in the 20th or 21st century as the most accurate unless the question asked what is the most accurate English translation. The answer would always be an opinion and not a fact that could be used on Jeopardy.

It is posted on Facebook that The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is the most accurate translation of the bible. This is erroneous. I have researched this and according to several highly respected bible scholars the NWT is most inaccurate and is biased to support the doctrines of the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Catholics most often refer to the Bible as "The Holy Bible". The official version of the Catholic Bible is the Latin Vulgate, the most accurate translation of the Bible ever done. In English, the most accurate version is the Douay Rheims translation, though one can get the Challoner version as the English is rather archiac in the original.
New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (and this was the correct answer on the television show: 'Jeopardy' when this very question was asked recently)
There are four general classifications of Bible translations: If you are looking for accuracy, a word for word translation there are three good ones. The King James version, the New American Standard Bible, and the English Standard Version.

A:The English King James commissioned the English translation of the Bible, that now bears his name./// This was in the year 1611. The King James Version Bible is a translation of the Bible which originated in 1611, King James of England ordered it to be translated from the Hebrew Bible. He set very strict rules to be followed and many men to do the work in order to insure it was translated right. It was then translated into a more modern form of English in 1769 by the University of Oxford. Which is the King James version Bible we have today. It is the most accurate Bible you can find, and the ONLY one I will recommend.
