My sister and I used to play a computer game called Math-A-Thon. You have to choose the grade that you are in, and play math games for that grade. You can get people to sponsor you, and if you complete the entire game, the people that sponsored you give you the amount of money that they said they would. Then all of that money goes to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Some people do it in their schools.
The Saint Jude hospital specializes in helping children with many diseases and cancers. This hospital also helps raise money and accepts donations to help provide the necessary care for sick children's families whom can't afford to pay the heavy hospital fees.
through donations and the patients insurance covers their care.
You should donate money because the money helps the patients their that don't have the money to pay for all the medacines and the money also helps to find the cure to cancer
You can donate money or do volunteer work there
According to the St. Jude website, "During the past five years, 81 cents of every dollar received has supported the research and treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital."
St. Jude's Research Hospital is named after St. Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of lost causes. The founder, entertainer Danny Thomas, prayed to St. Jude for help in starting a children's hospital, and when his prayers were answered, he dedicated the hospital to the saint as a way of giving thanks.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was created in 1962.
None. It was founded by an entertainer, Danny Thomas, and named for Saint Jude Thaddeus, patron saint of hospitals, desperate cases and lost causes. While Mr. Thomas was Catholic, the hospital today does not maintain any religious affiliation.
St. Jude is the patron saint of hopeless causes. I remember reading Danny Thomas' story of the promise he made to God when he was down and out, long before he 'made it'. The promise, he made, was to build and found a Hospital named St. Judes Children's Hospital that would care and treat youngsters of all ages while in pursuit of finding cures for cancers.
The St Jude Children's Centre is a charity in India which helps provide homes, healthcare and food to poor children and their parents. Some charities do connect with the gods of their religion. However many charities, hospitals and so on are just named after a saint because that saint represents them or what they do. For example, Saint Jude is the Saint of lost causes and desperateness. The Saint Jude Children's Centre took the name 'Saint Jude' because they help children who feel lost and desperate. Having "Saint" in the name of an organisation does not make it a religious organisation. It's just a name.

Actor Danny Thomas established St. Jude Hospital as a tribute to his patron saint after enduring much hardship and having his petition for work granted. St Jude is patron saint of the impossible.

St. Jude Children's Hospital is located in Memphis, Tennessee. The mailing address for the hospital is 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
St. Jude's is a wonderful Hospital for children, that serves children whether the family can pay or not. It was the especial project of late actor/entertainer Danny Thomas. His legacy is carried on by his daughter Marlo Thomas, actress and wife of talk-show host Phil Donahue. Danny Thomas was of Lebanese descent, and I belive Roman Catholic, as St. Jude is the Roman Catholic Patron Saint of Lost Causes.
