Nearly twenty organs and tissues have been discovered in Mammals and Human which secrete hormones and comprise endocrine system . Most of organs included in list are exclusively endocrine in nature while some organs perform other functions but also produce some hormones .
Organs :
1 : Adenohypophysis ( Anterior Pituitary Gland ) is considered master gland , produces 7 hormones
2 : Neurohypophysis ( Posterior Pituitary Gland ) produces two hormones .
3 : Pars inter-media ( Median lobe ) produces one hormone .
4 : Hypothalamus is part of nervous system and also produces releasing and inhibiting hormones .
5 :Thyroid , produces two hormones .
6 : Parathyroid produces two hormones .
7 : Islets of Langerhans ( Pancreatic islets ) , three hormones .
8 : Adrenal cortex , many hormones .
9 : Adrenal Medulla , two hormones .
10 : Testes in males produce male sex hormones .
!1 : Ovaries in females produce female sex hormones .
12 : Pineal , one hormone .
Tissues of Organs
13 : Corpus Lute-um , one hormone .
14 : Stomach produces gastrin
15 : Duodenum produces secretin , motilin and C.C.K.
16 : Heart produces a.n.p.
17 : adipose tissue produces leptin .
18 : Placenta produces many hormones .
19 : Liver produces insulin like growth factor .

The main organs of the endocrine system are the hypothalamus, pineal gland, pituitary gland, pancreas, testes, ovaries, parathyroid, and thyroid.

Although various organs in the body have cells that secrete assorted hormones, ultimately "major" suggests the organ in control of the entire system, which would be the brain. This is true whether you are talking about reproduction, growth, metabolic function, etc.

For example, while the anterior pituitary and the ovaries both play roles in the female reproductive cycle, ovulation is ultimately triggered by a surge of GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone) from the hypothalamus in the brain. This, in turn, stimulates the release of LH and/or FSH from the pituitary, which acts on ovarian cells to release testosterone and then estrogen. So things are happening and hormones are being released to varying effect all over the body, but the brain is where it all started.

A similar pattern can be seen with other endocrine pathways.

There are many organs which together create the endocrine system in our body.

The hypothalamus is the master organ, synthesizing and releasing hormones which exert control over the rest of the system. The pituitary gland also exerts some control over the endocrine system.

The actual endocrine organs include the thyroid gland, the adrenal glands (specifically the adrenal cortex), the pancreas, the ovaries (female), and the testes (male).

These are the traditional organs of the endocrine system. However, there are other organs that exert effects much like those listed above. The kidneys, for instance, produce erythropoietin, which stimulates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells. They also release renin, which as an end result, causes the renal tubules to absorb sodium and water.

The stomach and gastrointestinal systems also have endocrine-like functions - that results in enhanced digestion and absorption of nutrients.
