Pros and cons of Mobile phone Marketing?

There's really more upsides to mobile marketing for any business that any downsides. It's has huge potential that is literally untapped at this point. I'm mostly focusing on text or sms marketing versus mobile web.

Some pros would be:

• Higher open rates and responses than email marketing. Since most people have their phones with them, they respond almost instantly to texts as compared to emails for example.

• Being able to reach customers everywhere at anytime easily.

• More ways to target your prospect combining offline and online advertising. A business can now advertise an offer for a prospect or customer using any traditional means but instead of having a website address or phone number, they can offer a great deal in exchange for signing up to their mobile list using what's called a short code that they input into their phone and send off a text.

Many people will not write down a website address and even though they have a phone number, won't call because they don't want to talk to someone. It's simple and then you have their information to send additional information or offers as long as they want to be on your list.

The Cons:

• Not having a reliable mobile autoresponder service to make it easy and affordable to use. A good service makes this type of marketing a piece of cake as far as adding people to your list and also sending follow-up messages sent automatically.

• Not doing it the right way. This type of marketing like email marketing must be done correctly to stay in line with privacy policies and good practices. If done correctly it will be a great strategy to implement.
