It gives the pool a different look than standard white. It can also be splotchy and mottled. It will not make the water warmer. This is purely and aesthetic choice. I particularly like the way 8 oz. of blue and 2 oz. of black gives the water a tropical look.

What are the pros and cons of having the 6' deep portion of an 11' x 40' lap-play pool in the middle vs. the more traditional end of the pool?

Pros are the same as those of an in ground pool. Swimming in the deep end. The only cons are the safety one if you have small children and unless your deck goes all the way around the pool, cleaning the deep end is a little more difficult than for an in ground pool. I enjoy a deep center in a round pool.

What are the pros and cons of an indoor salt water pool Besides the obvious that you can use it all year long.?

The pros of course are the fact that the pool creates its own chlorine and according to many salt water pool owners salt water feels far better to swim in Salt water may lead to a little more in the way of rust in any materials that are iron based. however that should only be a minor problem with a correctly set up system.
