Peptone is the simplified source of protein and can be readily uptake by the microorganism. In nurtient agar it is the basic component/nutrient after which beef or yeast extract is used which are supplementary nutrients.
peptone, yeast extract,meat extract..
Peptone and beef extract
Modified nutrient glucose agar is composed of agar, water, glucose, extracts, peptone and sodium chloride. Modified nutrient glucose agar allows organisms to grow.
Pancreatic digest of casein, papaic digest of soybean meal, beef extract, peptone
peptone agar is used to show the production of hydrogen sulfide
Nutrient broth is made with peptone and a beef extract. The role of peptone, an amino acid, is to supply organic nitrogen. It is a water-soluble protein is obtained by partial hydrolysis of a protein by an acid.
Agar itself is not poisonous. It is a plant derived substance and used in some cuisines. Agar is often used to analyse DNA. For this purpose it is commonly combined with ethidium bromide which is highly carcinogenic.
in order to maintain the ionic balance.....................
yeast extract and peptone.
Peptone glucose agar (PGA) medium
thats a good question but unforunately i dont now the answer
Because the peptone iron agar is used to detect ANAEROBIC bacteria. If you stab it deep into the agar you allow the bacteria to grow in the absence of oxygen. If you only inoculated the surface the bacteria wouldn't grow.
