no the radiator fan will only run when the engine is up to temp and needs to cool back down usually 180 to 220 degrees

Connected to the upper radiator hose. Coolant flows from the engine to the radiator to be cooled. The coolant temp. sensor should be screwed into it.
Take a look where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine. Where the hose connects, you should find the thermostat.
Lookat the the lower end of the engine behind the radiator
Follow the top radiator hose from the radiator to the engine, where it connects is the thermostat housing, the thermostat is inside.

The thermostat on a Chevrolet Cavalier 1.7 diesel is located on the side of the engine. It can be found by following the upper radiator hose.
