Try Born of Osiris. I believe they are progressive.
No, death metal is not for emo's such bands as "Hawthorne Heights" and "Madina Lake" are emo bands death metal is more advanced and for more hardcore people and FYI everyone Joe Gardner has an egg dick. It's pretty simple. Emo music wants to kill itself, death metal wants to kill other people (the more, and the more brutally, the better).
People have different opinions on whether it is satanic or not, but I don't really think it is. Some of us just like to rock out and turn up the volume. It's a good way to let out your anger and depression. It also depends on the lyrics. Just because they curse and scream doesn't mean it's about Satan and all that stuff. If that's what the lyrics are like in a different song, then sure, it could be considered satanic. It isn't always metal. Think about the religion of the band that made the song. Some bands are Satanic, but it doesn't mean anything different from what non-Satanic bands sing about. There's several different types of Metal music, such as Thrash, NÜ Metal, Etc. And, keep in mind, they have also made Christian metal.
That depends on your own opinion, but the quality and skill also play a part in of what might be qualified as the "best" death metal bands. Here are some good death metal bands from different areas that I would advise.. That's just a small handful of some of the "best" bands.New York:ImmolationIncantationSuffocationMorpheus DescendsBaphometFlorida:Morbid AngelNocturnusMonstrosityMassacreObituaryCanada:GorgutsCryptopsyMartyrSweden:NihilistEntombed(early)DismemberHypocrisyTherionUnleashedSacramentum(early)GraveNorway:CadaverMolestedFinland:DemilichDemigodAmorphisSentencedAdramelechBelialNetherlands:PestilenceAsphyxGermany:Atrocity(early)BloodFleshcrawl
Death Metal was popular around 1990-1995. With bands like Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide. Cannibal Corpse and Deicide drew much controversial backlash from religious conservative groups with releasing explicit album covers to obscene lyrics and content. Death Metal's popularity has risen throughout the 2000's especially since more legitamite versions of death metal have started to become popular, Death Metal's popularity is at Its best right now, especially with the dominant Melodic Death Metal hybrid subgenre.
Tokio Hotel
Death Metal has roots in Sweden. The excitement for Death Metal spread and by the late 1980's, many bands were created. Some of the most notable bands include Slayer, Kreator, Celtic Frost, and Venom.
This is a very controversial topic, but the year was 1983-84 and the bands were Possessed and Death. Some people would say some other bands but that's them not me.
Universum, In Flames, Bleeding Through, I Killed The Prom Queen and Nightrage.
The Devil Wears Prada, Blessthefall, Confide, In Fear And Faith are a few.
Try Born of Osiris. I believe they are progressive.
Blood Duster (play something of a Death/Industrial hybrid) Mortification (Christian band, whose whole discography is Death Metal-inspired to some extent, but later releases strayed a bit away from actually being Death Metal). Abramelin Bestial Warlust has a tendency to straddle the line between Death and Black Metal

There are many great death metal bands out there, it depends on the type you like. Not all death metal is the same. Some people like Morbid Angel, but I prefer Cannibal Corpse. I would recommend Cannibal Corpse, listen to "Evisceration Plague" or "Priests of Sodom" (songs). A good place to find what death metal bands you like would be to listen to Death FM, an online radio station. The listeners chose what is played. "Death" is an excellent band Deicide is good too
No such genre.
