The Torres Strait Islands lie between Cape York Peninsula and Papua New Guinea.
The San Bernardino Strait between the islands of Luzon and Samar, and the San Juanico Strait between the islands of Leyte and Samar, are two examples of straits in the Philippines.
Cook Strait lies between the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
COOK STRAIT
This water passage is the Cook Strait, named after Captain James Cook, who circumnavigated New Zealand in 1769-1770.
It is between the islands of Java and Sumatra in the Sunda Strait
The Sunda Strait is located between the islands of Sumatra (to the relative north) and Java (to the relative south).
