According to my recollection, he was. He conveniently went to Sweden or one of the other Scandinavian countries to escape the draft. He was not, to my knowledge, ever deemed to be unfit for service. He just refused to report, instead he left the United States, and lived abroad for some time. I find it odd that he did return to the U.S., and was portrayed in the movie, "First Blood" as a Special Forces soldier/vet who had problems once he returned home for the war. His case, like so many more, were silently swept under the covers, and nothing was ever done. I do remember that Jimmy Carter did approve the amnesty program for several thousand draft dodgers who resided overseas, but return to the U.S. No jail time or punishments were given for their misdeeds.
No, he was not. He served in the US Air Force.
According to information that can be found on the internet, Mr Gary Fong had been a photographer for twenty years before he became famous. Gary Fong had photographed such big named celebrities as Sylvester Stallone during his photographic career.
No. A forceps accident during his birth severed a facial nerve, leaving Stallone with parts of his lip, tongue, and chin paralyzed. In doing so, the accident imprinted Stallone with some of the most recognizable components of his persona: the distinctively slurred (and some say often nearly incomprehensible) speech patterns, drooping lower lip, and crooked left eye that have been eagerly seized upon by caricaturists. To compound these defects, Stallone was a homely, sickly child who once suffered from rickets.
The Communist leader of North Vietnam was Ho Chi Minh. He was a revolutionary leader that wanted Vietnam's independence from foreign countries. He was born in 1890 and died in 1969. After the fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War, it was renamed Ho Chi Minh City for this leader.
GI rumors in RVN stated that he was killed during an Arc Light mission in 1969. North Vietnam stated he died of natural causes. Probably the latter.
Peter and Marie Rappolt toured Vietnam in 1969 for 8 months and in 1970 for 6 months, completing over 400 shows for American troops. Their band was called The Sounds Of Lawrence. Peter And Marie are still very active as musicians in their Viva the band in Sydney. A video of their Vietnam Tours can be seen in the related link. They have a website (see the second related link) with a history page that is also informative.
Sylvester Stallone (born 1946) was not drafted, nor did he volunteer to join the military during the Vietnam War. He did attend a military prep school prior to his attending junior college and college in Florida.
Sylvester Stallone's son, Sage Stallone, was arrested for attempted assault after allegedly trying to stab his father with a pair of scissors during an argument in 1990.
Rocky is from Philedelphia, Pennsylvania. During the movie when you see him running up the stairs while training, that has become a big thing for tourists to do in Philedelphia now. Rocky was written, and acted in by Sylvester Stallone who was born in New York City.
