The animals that were ancestral to the domestic pig were the wild boars of Eurasia. They were very widespread in their distribution, and were found virtually everywhere in Europe and Asia, except the places with the most extreme conditions.

Domestic pigs were introduced just about everywhere that there were farms by people from Europe and Asia.
