What are you asking about them?
If you wanted to know what they were called, there were three species of humans known to have lived during the last Ice Age. The earliest was Homo heidelbergensis, which evolved into the other two species during the ice age. These were Homo neanderthalis (which died out 30,000 years ago), and Homo sapiens (modern humans).
H. neanderthalis and H. heidelbergensis both died out before the end of the Ice Age. H. sapiens are the only human species known to have survived beyond the end of the last Ice Age.
The famous Ice Age animals thrived during the Ice Age, but they died out at the end of the Ice Age. Animals that survived the end of the Ice Age include almost every animal that exists today; most of them evolved during the Ice Age.
actually a lot of animals survived the ice age like the horse for an example we still see that today and thebison , puma , the lion and the ferret and it goes on and on. so if you wanna know exactly just go to a ice age animals web and see if we still have them today
They had caves back then and yes.....of course they knew how to start a fire and actually its just like living in antacrtica.
Answer:
They almost didn't survive in Europe. Studies of mitochondrial DNA indicate that the number of breeding couples bottomed in the ice age as shown by the genetic diversity in Europeans. Some thought has been given to the preservation of the European population only in Iberia.
In Africa however there was no Ice Age (the whole world didn't get covered with glaciers) so there was a resource of humans ready to retake the northern areas even lf the pre-Europeans died off.
As to the "How did they survive?" thee are many people alive in the world today who survive in very cold areas (Inuit and Lapps for example) People during the Ice Ages were just as intelligent and resourceful as these folk.
No one knows, or has an proof if people were alive then or what animals survived during the ice age.
Fossils and stone tool remnants clearly show that stone age modern humans lived on all continents except Antarctica and south America in the last ice age. Fossils identify hundreds of thousands of species of animals living in the last ice age.
