Disadvantages: Loss of life and poperty due to the falling buildings, landslides and tsunamis caused by earthquakes.

Advantages: under the ocean, earthquakes can make cracks in the ocean floor, where the crust is very thin. Hot magma comes seeping up, gets cooled by water and hardens, leading to the formation of new land.
