∙ 12y agoOne of his biggest downfalls was that he was the only founding father who succeeded in emancipating his slavesHe owned about 300 slaves which was frowned upon, most of which whom worked in his Whiskey Distillery. He also enforced the Fugitive Slave Act of 1793 and this act established the legal system in which a slaveholder could recover his property.
