India was the birthplace of several sciences. Several mathematical concepts including zero, decimal system, square root, and algebra, started in India. Also, they were the first people to realize that the world was round, and not flat. They dicovered and made cures for over 1,000 diseases, and even did surgery!

Their theory of the creation of the universe, the theory that the earth goes around the sun, they had the earliest and only known modern language, they invented the zero, and made up the word "Algorithm".

Also, there is geometry( Rigveda), Aeronautics ( Vaimanika Soothradhara), Speed of light( from rigveda approx.= 2,98,905 m/s), medicine ( surgery was performed even befor 100 BC by Sushruta, Charaka.), Trigonometry ( Rigveda ), Definition of sleep and the mental condition during sleep (Prashnopanioshad), etc.etc. If we are to speak about Ancient India's achievements, then that would extend very much greater than that of the modern science.
