Random access memory (RAM) is memory that can be written to easily (which usually means by the device where the memory's installed). "Random access" means any part of the memory can be got at immediately.
RAM needs to be supplied with power to keep what's in it. ROM (Read Only Memory) doesn't, but writing to it is more difficult - you usually need a separate writer.
Random access memory is more commonly said as RAM. Random access memory or RAM is what some of the speed of your pc or laptop comes from. RAM Looks like a long chip that goes inside your computer and it comes in gigabytes and most computer have 2 RAM slots so E.G. my laptop has got 4gbs of RAM. it has to 2gb sticks. there are about 10different RAM stick ones with 200 pins, 204pins, 240pin etc.
The difference between Read Only Memory to Random Access Memory, is ROM's data is prerecorded which cannot be removed, its a nonvolatile and it retains its contents regardless the computer is on or off. While RAM's contents can be accessed whether read, write, and remove in any order, RAM is usually used for primary storage in a computers to hold active information such as data and programs.
Random access memory and read only memory are two different things. Read-only memory(usually hard drive is called read only memory) is memory that contains specific instructions that do not need to be be changed, such as how your computer boots up. Random access memory (RAM), which is sometimes referred to simply as "memory", is the part of your computer that stores things that only need to be stored for a short time, such as the appearance of your screen or what website you are on at the moment.
Read Only Memory or ROM, is a type of memory that normally can only be read. As opposed to Random Access Memory or RAM, which can be both read and written.
Random Access means that you can read or write anywhere you want in the memory at any given instant.
The alternative is Sequential Access that is the case for backup tape cassettes.

PROM stands for programable Read only memory. it is a nonvolatile memory.
powertrain read only memory Programmable Read-Only Memory
Read only memory (ROM)
i think programmable read-only memory are chips programmed with content that cannot be erased and erasable programmable read-only memory are chips programmed with content that cannot be erased but can be replaced by using electrical devices with strong ultra violet rays
ROM is Read Only Memory. It holds the codes put there by the manufacture, and is used to start the loading of the Operating System.
In a computer, the full form of ROM is Read Only Memory.
flash memory
ROM means Read Only Memory. It contains data which should never be modified, such as BIOS.
