Another lost query that failed to be responded to for months because of category shuffles. The answer to the question is yes/no/maybe and depends on how unsafe the home really is. If there is a threat to life or limb, physical, mental or sexual abuse any socialogist in good standing would sound an alarm as would any law enforcement officer. Is the unsaftey caused by: * Sanitation * Vermin * Wild animals * Creaky floorboards * Ghosts that go Boo in the night or is it a * Violent Child Beater * Child molester * Control Freak or only an * Overly protective parent and an out of control child. Child Protective Services should be consulted for advice and consul. Keep in mind that they are Only concerned with the Health and Welfare of their constituents and not issues like tatoos, piercings, curfews, drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, short skirts, promiscuity or childhood stupidity. They are responsible for health and safety and not there to guard children from parental rules (within reason) that are within the normal sanctions of public safety.

Ohio does not allow a minor to petition for emancipation. A minor in Ohio is considered emancipated if they are married or have joined the military, both of which require parental consent.
