Delaware's Highways

Interstate 95 (abreviated I-95) is one of the best-known, most important, and most heavily travelled highways in the Interstate system. It serves and connects the major cities along the Northeast corridor, and it is the major north-south highway along the east coast. It is the longest north-south Interstate highway (five east-west routes are longer), and it passes through the most states (15) of any Interstate.

I-95 comes into Delaware from Maryland. Most of it is the Delaware Turnpike. Interstate 295 splits off and heads over the Delaware Memorial Bridge to the New Jersey Turnpike. The mainline heads into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
