But back in the 70's The J Giels band did record this song, But i can't find it on the internet. I have in album form somewhere
The original song is by Tom Cochrane but Rascal Flatts did a cover for the movie Cars a few years back which also gained great success.
I don't know who wrote that^^^^ but the original was NOT sung by Tom Cochrane. The song came out in the early 80s and was sung by John Mallencamp. Don't believe me? Look it up under his albums. I have never heard Tom Cochrane sing it but I know I heard John Mellencamp singing it when I was growing up round the same time Hurt So Good came out and I believe it's on the same album (although I could be wrong). However I DO know that Tom Cochrane is NOT the first to sing it. It's actually a toss up between John Mellencamp and Chris LeDoux
Life is a highway first sang by Tom cochrane Since 1991 in his album mad mad world.
His song was very famous and made it to number 1 in his native Canada.
Then, in 2006 an American rock band rascal flatts played this song in the Disney movie cars. This song appeared in the scene where
Lightning McQueen and his driver mack were on their way to California.
Chris LeDroux and jerry jeff Walker later sang this famous song.
Rascall Flatts.
Rascal Flatts did a remake of this song...it was originally by Tom Cochrane who used to be in the band Red Rider

Sounds like Rascal Flatt's cover for Cars of Life is a Highway It is actually a song named "Free and Easy Down the Road I go" by Dierks Bentley.
The correct verse is "My heart is like an open highway".It probably means something like "my heart is open to love and to be loved". ( At least this is how I see it ). Mainly, the song is about "we have only 1 life, so live it to the fullest"
Life's Highway - song - was created in 1986.
