He was particularly famous as the the writer of such classics as David Copperfield, The Pickwick Papers,A Tale of Two Cities,Bleak House, The Old Curiosity Shop, Great Expectations and Nicholas Nickleby. Although his book's are still popular and widely read to this day, his most well-known work's (due to film and tv adaptions) may be Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol.
