What painkillers are available for cats?

None of the human pain medications - these are extremely toxic to cats and a single dose can be enough to kill. These medications include Tylenol, Advil, Aleve, Paracetamol, Motrin, acetominophen, ibuprofen, aspirin and all other common human pain relievers.

If you feel your cat would benefit from pain medication, you need to see your veterinarian. There are safe pain medications for cats, but they are only available from your veterinarian.

Nothing at home - human medications can be very toxic to cats and you could accidentally kill your cat.

I would strongly recommend taking your cat to the vet - he/she can examine your cat and figure out what is causing the pain. Then the underlying problem can be fixed rather than just masking the symptom (pain).

You will need to get pain medication on prescription from your vet. Aspirin and paracetamol are definitely big No No's! Any human pain medication is usually too high a dosage so definitely speak to your vet.
