shifting cultivation is no longer used, they now eat poo.
Some countries that still practice shifting cultivation include Brazil, Indonesia, Cameroon, and Papua New Guinea. However, shifting cultivation is gradually decreasing in popularity due to its impact on deforestation and land degradation.
Advantages: Shifting cultivation promotes biodiversity by allowing for natural forest regeneration, provides households with food security through diverse crop production, and helps to preserve traditional knowledge and cultural practices. Disadvantages: It can lead to deforestation and soil degradation if not managed sustainably, may result in conflicts over land use with other communities or governments, and can be labor-intensive due to the need to constantly clear new land for cultivation.
Sedentary agriculture refers to a system of farming where people settle in one place to cultivate crops instead of leading a nomadic lifestyle. This type of agriculture involves the use of permanent fields and allows for more intensive agricultural practices compared to nomadic or shifting cultivation.
A plot of land assigned to an individual for cultivation is typically called an allotment. Allotments are commonly used for growing fruits, vegetables, and other crops for personal use or small-scale production.
An allotment is a plot of land assigned to an individual for cultivation purposes. It is typically used for growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, or herbs for personal use. Allotments are usually small in size and are commonly found in community gardens or urban areas.
Some countries still use DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) for mosquito control to prevent the spread of diseases such as malaria. It is effective against mosquitos and cost-effective compared to alternative methods. However, DDT is also a persistent organic pollutant that can have harmful environmental and health impacts.

Intercropping is a modification of shifting cultivation where different crops are grown together in the same field to maximize land use efficiency.

Cultivation allows farmers to use fewer herbicides. Cultivation will often allow the soil to warm more quickly as well, leading to earlier crops.
This paper is concerned with the consequences of population growth and its increasing density on land use pattern and its changes. For this purpose, the empirical evidences are drawn from FAO statistics with reference to Southeast Asian Countries. The paper attempted to provide both a regional and comparative perspective in understanding the relationship between population growth and land use changes. The study observed a steady growth in the human population during the last three decades, though the growth rate has declined during the nineties. The unequal distribution of population in terms of its size and growth was observed among the Southeast Asian Countries. The analysis indicated changes in land use pattern towards ‘arable and permanent cropland’ and ‘land not available for cultivation’. However, such a trend varied across Southeast Asian Countries significantly. The effect of population pressure on land use changes are examined both in a broad and narrow sense, which indicated growing population pressure on land, particularly on agricultural land resulting extensification. It is observed that extensification is made possible by shifting land from forest and pastureland, and also by shifting from ‘land not available for cultivation. The variations in the effect of population pressure on land use changes are observed across Southeast Asian countries.
